This position aims to prioritize emergency and non-emergency requests for Police and Fire Department assistance received on 911 and administrative telephone lines. This is accomplished by coordinating and dispatching appropriate responses to requests for help, providing radio and telephone communication support to Police, Fire, and other city personnel, and performing clerical duties related to Emergency Communications.

Qualifications- Able to work in a 24/7/365 emergency communications center; working during emergency events, holidays, nights, weekends, occasional overtime, and must have flexibility in your schedule.
- Able to work under pressure, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Able to read and comprehend emergency communications manuals, books, and records.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Able to view, operate, and manage multiple computer programs and emergency communication devices concurrently through multiple computers displayed across multi-tiered monitors.
- Able to work independently in the absence of supervision.
