• Conducting hearing tests, evaluating balance disorders, and analyzing results to determine the nature and extent of hearing loss or other related conditions.
• Treatment Planning:
• Developing individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings, which may include prescribing hearing aids, recommending assistive listening devices, or suggesting other therapies.
• Hearing Aid Management:
• Selecting, fitting, and programming hearing aids, as well as providing ongoing support and maintenance for these devices.
• Educating patients and their families about hearing loss, communication strategies, and the use of assistive technologies.
• Rehabilitation:
• Helping patients adapt to hearing loss through various rehabilitation programs, including auditory training and speechreading.
• Prevention:
• Educating the public about the importance of hearing protection and preventing noise-induced hearing loss.
• Working with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, speech-language pathologists, and educators, to provide comprehensive care.
