CVS Health offers a Retail Pharmacy Residency Program to prepare pharmacists for advanced roles in community pharmacy practice and to equip pharmacists with skills and knowledge for a dynamic, patient-centered setting.
- Duration and Structure:
The program typically spans one year and provides rotations across retail pharmacy practice, aiming to be immersive and well-rounded. - Clinical and Operational Focus:
Training in clinical and operational aspects of pharmacy management, including medication therapy management, immunizations, health screenings, and patient care services. - Patient-Centered Care:
Emphasis on collaborating with healthcare teams, effective communication with patients, and optimizing medication therapy outcomes. - Preceptorship and Mentorship:
Guidance from experienced preceptors and mentors to support professional growth. - Pharmacy Leadership:
Exposure to pharmacy management, staff development, and operational efficiency in a retail setting. - Quality Improvement Projects:
Residents undertake projects to enhance patient care, efficiency, or community outreach. - Professional Development:
Seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay current with pharmacy practice advancements. - Networking and
Collaboration:
Opportunities to collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the CVS Health network. - Pharmacy Services Expansion:
Exposure to expanded services such as point-of-care testing and chronic care management. - Comprehensive Evaluation: A rigorous evaluation process to assess competence and readiness for independent practice.

Required Qualifications- You must have applied to this specific program in PhORCAS to be considered for this position
- Pharm
D graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health - Pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas within 90 days of hire date
- Background in community pharmacy practice with interest in organizational leadership
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Professionalism and maturity
- Ability to travel to clinical sites, training programs, and professional meetings
- CVS Health internship or rotation experience
- Pharm
D graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health

Pay RangeThe Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $30.00 - $42.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
