JOB SUMMARY

As an Emergency Medical Service Field Supervisor in our hospital-based system you will oversee and coordinate emergency medical services, ensuring efficient response to transports both internal and external to the system. Emergency medical services supervisors use advanced paramedic training and leadership skills to oversee emergency medical technicians, while maintaining a safe working environment. This job requires extensive medical knowledge and emergency services training, as well as a paramedic license.

Supervise and support EMS staff, conduct quality assessments, and collaborate with hospital departments to enhance patient care. Bring your leadership skills to the forefront as you play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of emergency medical services within our hospital environment. Train new and existing employees to Harris Health System field operations and provides ongoing education, supervision and management of daily operations and productivity.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
    • Bachelor's Degree in EMS, Healthcare, Public Safety, or Business (preferred)
    • Associate's degree in EMS, Healthcare or a related field. Graduate of accredited school offering EMS training. Currently registered with Texas Department of State Health Services.
    • EMT-Paramedic licensed in the State of Texas. Current Texas Driver's license, BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association or Red Cross), EMS-related Certification – FP‑C, CCP‑C, or other related certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Work Experience (Years and Area): 3 years in related field

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Call response – Respond to calls, provide basic and advanced life support treatment to patients, and transport to appropriate medical facilities.
  • Vehicle Operations – Operate an ambulance or emergency vehicle as well as a wide range of life-saving/life-supporting equipment.
  • Communications – Monitor and initiate radio communications with dispatch center, hospital personnel, and field providers.
  • Crew Assistance – Assist crews with daily inspections, equipment checks, and restock team in preparation of subsequent missions.
  • Daily Logs & Reports – Review daily logs, patient care reports, vehicle maintenance logs, inventory lists, incident reports, and other correspondence.
