We are currently seeking a Social Activities Assistant at our Houston - Woodway community. The Social Activities Assistant is responsible for overseeing our Memory Care and Assisted Living residents and carrying out social programs according to the program calendar, and the directions of the Social Program Director. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, preparing for, setting up, and cleaning up after programs, recruiting program participants, maintaining resident participation and resident interest records, and promoting positive resident and guest relations and communication.

Maintain positive professional relations with team members, residents and family members. This position reports directly to our Social Activities Director who oversees day to day operations of the community's Social department.

Responsibilities
  • (2) Shifts available:
    Sunday-Monday OR Friday-Saturday
  • Programming:
    Assist in creating and maintaining a balanced calendar encompassing required areas of the social program structure and resident interests.
  • Ensure programs occur timely and as scheduled per the calendar.
  • Utilize an energetic approach to encourage resident participation.
  • Assist Social Program Director in preparing and distributing monthly resident newsletter.
  • Resident Focus.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher.
Requirements
  • At least one year of event planning, hospitality or senior living experience or equivalent experience and education.
  • Knowledge of local community resources, vendors and potential coverage for specific areas of cultural guild.
  • Exhibits an energetic demeanor with a caring, compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to direct, supervise and coordinate the work of others and motivate for positive performance.
  • Possesses sound organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to utilize the computer and related software programs.
  • Ability to work schedules as warranted by activities, events and transportation needs.
  • Get acquainted with every resident and build resident relations.
  • Assist in completing resident interest survey to be able to better plan programs.
