Hours:

compressed weekends. The MRI Technologist I position is responsible for completing a variety of routine diagnostic MRI procedures, including exams of moderate complexity with progression toward higher complexity exams. The technologist provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special MRI procedures, delivers exceptional patient care, adheres to MRI exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies, and ensures optimal patient safety and customer service as a member of the direct patient care team.

QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.

Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) – American Heart Association
  • Must have one of the following certifications: ARMRIT – Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARRT); ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); ARRT-N – Radiologic Technologist – Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT); ARRT‑MR – Radiologic Technologist – Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT); ARRT‑SON – Radiologic Technologist – Sonography (ARRT); CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist – State Licensure; CNMT – Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB).

Service Essential Functions
  • Performs diagnostic MRI procedures, including common and special MRI exams, to produce images of body structures and assess chemical makeup of tissues.
  • Proactively assesses, identifies, and responds to patient needs for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
  • Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special MRI procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level using verbal and non‑verbal skills, terminology, and language.
Quality/Safety Essential Functions
  • Follows safety standards and performs all imaging procedures accordingly, maintaining proper sterile techniques and practicing aseptic procedures.
  • Reports near‑misses and enters errors promptly into the appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends.
  • Performs daily imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use and reports malfunctions to management.
