Description
Texas Regional Physicians (TRP) is a patient-focused, state-of-the-art medical practice offering comprehensive care across multiple specialties, including pain management, orthopedics, and related services. Our integrated model allows patients to receive coordinated, efficient care in one location—eliminating unnecessary visits and improving outcomes.
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate Front Desk Representative to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow in healthcare while making a real impact on patients’ lives.
Responsibilities- Entering data into a health information system is a core function of the job. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Expediting patient referrals to specialty offices
- Completing referral requests as needed
- Faxing and sending medical records to our various departments for processing
- Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety
- Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information
- Assemble information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs
- Provide appropriate clinical information to specialist
- Contact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met
- Provide specific medical information to financial services to maximize reimbursement to the hospital and physicians.
- Review details and expectations about the referral with patients
- Experience in medical terminology and workers’ compensation processes required.
- Education:
High school diploma required; associate degree and/or certificate in a related field preferred. - Training &
Experience: - Minimum of one (1) year of current experience within the last three (3) years in a comparable role required (unless otherwise indicated).
- Two (2) years of medical clinic administrative or medical experience preferred.
- Proficiency in internet use, email, Microsoft Office, and data entry required.
- Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA regulations; ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient and client information.
- Ability to successfully pass state and federal background security checks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated understanding of medical and surgical terminology.
