Easter Seals of Greater Houston, a leading provider of service to people of all ages, with any type of disability is currently seeking a Physical Therapist for our Children's Therapy program outpatient clinic.
Position Type:Part-time/Contract/PRN
Location:4888 Loop Central Drive, Houston, TX 77081
The Pediatric Physical Therapist provides evaluation, treatment, and consultation services to infants, children, and adolescents with developmental, neuromuscular, orthopedic, and congenital conditions. The therapist works collaboratively with families and a multidisciplinary team to improve a child's gross motor function, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and overall physical development.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations using standardized assessments and clinical observations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and family goals.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve motor development, mobility, balance, posture, coordination, and strength.
- Educate and train families and caregivers on home exercise programs, equipment use, and ways to support therapy goals in daily routines.
- Recommend and assist in the procurement of adaptive equipment or orthotics when appropriate.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with clinic, state, and payer guidelines.
- Collaborate with other pediatric therapists (OTs, SLPs), physicians, educators, and other service providers.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and parent consultations as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging therapy environment.
- Stay up to date with continuing education, certifications, and licensure requirements.
- Communicates effectively with administration regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.
- Supervises Physical Therapy Students as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Pediatric experience preferred (clinical rotation or professional).
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required).
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate children in a compassionate and creative manner.
- Ability to lift or move pediatric patients.
- Frequent kneeling, crouching, crawling, and playing on the floor.
- Sustained standing, walking, or movement throughout the day.
Salary: $55 per hour
