Job Description - Phlebotomist

Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing high‑quality venipunctures and providing support in daily clinical operations. This includes troubleshooting specimen issues, assisting with training, and recommending workflow improvements. The role supports an IOP within an OBGYN clinic and requires strong patient‑care and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform 15-20 blood draws per day

* Conduct adult phlebotomy within an OBGYN clinic (IOP)

* Ensure proper specimen collection, processing, labeling, and handling

* Provide assistance with troubleshooting and workflow efficiency

* Support training and help maintain a smooth, safe, patient‑focused environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual - strongly preferred

* Experience in OB/GYN settings - plus

Minimum Qualifications

* Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (as required)

* High School Diploma or GED

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

* Minimum of 2 years of experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
