The Telemetry/Thoracic/Cardiovascular Unit provides care to patients admitted to the unit. This is a 32 bed surgical telemetry unit, patients who may have developed an arrhythmias.
Shift3 x 12 hours: 7pm to 7am including rotating weekends and holidays.
ResponsibilitiesFunction - Responsible for the continuous observation, identification and documentation of changes in patient cardiac rate/rhythm.
Scope - Impacts outcome of patient care.
Essential Job Functions - Monitors and documents EKG/cardiac rhythm, non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) and pulse oximetry (SpO2). Promptly reports changes in cardiac rhythms to nurse. Maintains accurate documentation of all admissions/discharges/transfers and associated telemetry logs.
Other duties as assigned.
Education- Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred:
Successful completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia course.

1 year prior experience in EKG/cardiac monitoring. - Required:
No experience required with preferred education.

BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
