The Judge Group is currently seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a fantastic client of ours in Houston, TX!

Surgical Technologist – CVOR

Job Description

This position is responsible for providing expert perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. The role functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory; uses knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • License/Certification:
    Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Experience:

    Two (2) years of CVOR experience as a surgical technologist required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge and practice of perioperative patient care concepts; ability to perform independently as first scrub in assigned specialty areas.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic principles and surgical instrumentation.
  • Ability to support case readiness and flow to ensure optimal functioning of the unit.
  • Commitment to professional growth, continuing education, and serving as a resource to less experienced staff.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Perform independently as first scrub in assigned specialty areas.
  • Verify functioning and availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to surgical procedures.
  • Apply principles of asepsis to ensure optimal patient care in the OR.
  • Ensure safe care to patients by adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Promote professional growth and development; meet mandatory education and competency requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Compensation
  • Salary Range: $54,300 – $83,300 (Salary is based on experience.)
  • Sign-on bonus and night shift differential may apply.
