Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Research and Development Technician to join our newly established Research & Development division. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of pharmaceutical science and innovation—transforming drug concepts into viable, patient-ready formulations.

As a Research and Development Technician, you will operate in a dedicated research lab environment, separate from daily compounding operations. You’ll be the critical bridge between ideation and implementation, conducting hands‑on formulation development, analyzing results, and collaborating with our sterile and non‑sterile production teams to bring new products to life.

This role is ideal for a self‑directed pharmaceutical professional who thrives in a research‑focused environment and is passionate about advancing the science of compounding pharmacy.

What

You’ll Do
  • Formulation Research & Development
  • Design, test, and refine pharmaceutical formulations in a controlled laboratory setting
  • Conduct hands‑on compounding to evaluate formulation viability, stability, and efficacy
  • Serve as the bridge between conceptual drug development and operational production
  • Data Analysis & Documentation
  • Prepare comprehensive reports analyzing formulation successes and failures
  • Document research findings, methodologies, and recommendations with precision
  • Maintain detailed records in compliance with pharmaceutical R&D standards
  • Present findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Submit validated formulations to sterile and non‑sterile compounding teams for operational implementation
  • Coordinate lab usage and scheduling with production teams
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize development projects aligned with business objectives
  • Laboratory Management
  • Manage significant R&D documentation and regulatory paperwork
  • Maintain organized laboratory records and research files
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
Required Qualifications
  • Hands‑on compounding experience in a pharmacy or laboratory setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for data management and reporting
  • Proven experience presenting findings and data to teams or stakeholders
  • Self‑starter with exceptional time management and the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to execute formulation protocols with minimal supervision
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
  • Experience with PK (pharmacokinetics) software or similar analytical tools
  • Sterile compounding certification (e.g., USP 797)
  • Background in pharmaceutical research, formulation science, or product development
  • Experience in a compounding pharmacy or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
