CT Department is a high-performance, patient-centered environment equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology, including advanced multi-detector CT scanners and dose-monitoring tools. The department performs a broad range of diagnostic and interventional CT studies that support complex oncology care. Our technologists work alongside expert radiologists, nurses, physicists and clinical teams dedicated to accuracy, safety, and exceptional patient experience.
Position SummaryThe CT Technologist performs high-quality CT imaging examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate diagnostic results and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will have completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, have ARRT in CT, Texas Medical Board (TMB) license and BLS certification.
Shift / hoursMonday - Friday / 2pm - 10:30pm
Key Responsibilities Technical Skills, Accuracy, Communication & Critical Thinking- Operates within professional scope to deliver high-quality CT imaging in a dynamic, team-driven environment.
- Performs CT exams using approved protocols and seeks clarification when necessary.
- Demonstrates competency to operate independently without direct supervision.
- Reviews all studies for accuracy and ensures proper coding and charging.
- Identifies and reports significant findings to radiologists.
- Performs quality assurance checks on equipment; escalates issues appropriately.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ensures correct data entry into PACS, scanners, EMRs, and related systems.
- Maintains deep knowledge of routine and specialized protocols.
- Provides a safe, attentive, hazard-free environment for all patients.
- Applies age-specific guidelines when performing procedures.
- Uses critical thinking to proactively resolve patient care concerns.
- Correctly identifies patients using two approved identifiers.
- Implements safety and fall‑prevention protocols.
- Recognizes and responds to patient distress; initiates emergency procedures as needed.
- Administers contrast agents safely, following the five rights of medication administration.
- Maintains clean, organized work areas and ensures availability of supplies.
- Applies radiation safety standards such as ALARA and Image Gently and provides shielding when appropriate.
- Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and a high level of customer service.
- Maintains strong productivity and supports departmental workflow.
- Assists with patient transport, workflow coordination, and patient throughput.
- Provides thorough hand‑off communication at the end of each shift.
- Follows downtime procedures during system outages.
- Reports equipment malfunctions promptly to appropriate teams.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
