The Inpatient Coder III
, under limited supervision, reviews medical records and codes all diagnoses and procedures (medical and surgical) according to applicable coding guidelines. Assigns and verifies the correct DRG for inpatient accounts. Applies accurate codes for reimbursement, research, epidemiology, quality of care evaluation, and communication to support patient treatment. Maintains the confidentiality of patient records and procedures.
