The Gambling Clinic of Texas, LLC is a private outpatient mental health practice that offers compassionate and comprehensive care for individuals and families affected by gambling disorder and problem gambling behavior.
SUMMARYThe Gambling Clinic of Texas is a leading provider of problem gambling treatment, prevention, and awareness in Texas. The Therapist will join our interdisciplinary team of clinicians who are passionate about reducing problem gambling behavior and the effects of gambling harms, and who believe in a family-focused and strengths-based approach. The Therapist will support clinical services within our gambling addiction treatment program, affected family support program, or both, depending on experience and organizational need.
This role offers the opportunity to provide outpatient treatment services, including individual and group psychotherapy, while utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as gambling-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address gambling disorder and co-occurring disorders. With services tailored to the unique needs of each client and family, we are seeking a dynamic clinician who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to our mission and respond to the needs of our community.
REQUIREMENT & EXPERIENCE Education /Experience
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy required
- Current licensure: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT; LCSW-S, LPC-S or LMFT-S preferred
- Current certification: ICGC-I, or willingness to obtain this certification, required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the fields of behavioral health and/or mental health
- Strong knowledge of psychosocial issues, family systems, interpersonal dynamics, community resources, and the treatment planning process
- Experience conducting diagnostic assessments, facilitating psycho educational and therapeutic process groups, and providing individual and group therapy
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
