Position Summary

The Corporate Director of Behavioral Health Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for Nexus Health Systems’ behavioral health programs across all facilities. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Clinical Services, this position is responsible for ensuring consistent standards of care, program alignment, and clinical excellence system-wide. This leader will oversee behavioral health program development, implementation, and evaluation; support multidisciplinary teams;

and ensure that all services adhere to Nexus’ mission, evidence-based practices, and regulatory compliance standards. The Corporate Director will also serve as a resource for clinical consultation, training, and program performance improvement. Candidates with BCBA certification or licensed behavioral health credentials (LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist) are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide corporate-level oversight of all behavioral health programs across Nexus Health Systems facilities, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and program consistency.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to design, evaluate, and enhance behavioral health programming in alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Nexus’ Programming With Purpose (PWP) model to reflect current evidence-based interventions and regulatory standards.
  • Provide clinical consultation and direction for patient treatment planning, including behavioral interventions, family support, and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Offer ongoing training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for behavioral health teams across facilities.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on program outcomes, quality metrics, and compliance data to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory readiness.
  • Serve as an advocate for behavioral health initiatives and represent the department in strategic planning, policy development, and leadership meetings.
  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of behavioral health program staff.
  • Participate in complex case reviews, crisis resolution, and consultation for high-acuity patients when needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and supportive work environment consistent with Nexus’ mission and values.
Qualifications Education
  • Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.

    D.) in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Applied Behavioral Analysis with BCBA certification will be considered.
Licensure/Certification
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, or BCBA (in good standing in the State of Texas).
  • Current AHA BLS/CPR certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Must maintain annual TB testing and other facility-required health compliance standards.
Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience and program development in behavioral health, preferably within hospital, neurorehabilitation, or residential settings.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary teams and developing behavioral health programs.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical care standards, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Experience with data-driven quality improvement and outcomes management.
