About the Position

Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This direct-hire solicitation is at grade 13. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for candidates new to federal service. Student loan repayment may be authorized. Federal work experience creditable for leave purposes.

• Conduct psychological assessments and formulate behavioral health interventions within a primary care setting; assist with implementation and monitoring of treatment plans with Primary Care Managers and Behavioral Health Case Managers.
• Provide timely and concise feedback to PCMs regarding consultation findings and recommendations; provide concise documentation of care and recommendations within the patient’s medical record.
• Provide focused follow up care, including relapse‑prevention education; triage and refer patients to Specialty Behavioral Health Care when appropriate.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments; provide on‑going consultation services for a sub‑set of patients who require on‑going monitoring.
• Develop, teach, and provide oversight for classes that promote education and skill‑building to enhance psychological and physical health; promote behavioral change related to improved health status.

Applicants must possess a valid, job‑related license or certification; a copy of the license or certification must be submitted with the application. Educational substitute may be accepted only with a transcript or equivalent evaluation. A resume not exceeding two pages, supporting specialized experience, and including employer, title, dates, hours per week, and description is required.
