Overview

Ideal candidate will have High School Diploma and 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail, infusion or hospital setting. Highly Prefer at least one year of IV sterile preparation experience, ACPE IV Sterile Products Competency.

Working Hours

The working hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm (hours may vary based on current needs of the department).

Job Specific Competencies Sterile Compounding / Preparation
  • Follows standard operating procedures and safety standards (USP 797/800, NIOSH) when handling, preparing, and disposing of hazardous drugs
  • Documents and reports chemotherapy spills appropriately
  • Demonstrates correct use of closed-system transfer devices and maintains ongoing competency
  • Prepares investigational doses by reviewing datasheets and protocol directions, admixing with care, and documenting on investigational drug cards
  • Seeks pharmacist assistance when necessary
  • Demonstrates strong pharmacy math and calculation skills
  • Manages time efficiently while maintaining a high level of productivity
  • Demonstrates proficiency in pharmacy systems, including BD CATO, Phacts, One Connect, and controlled access cabinets
  • Manages inventory through the supply chain process
Inventory Management
  • Monitors key inventory parameters, including stock levels, shortages, recalls
  • Makes inventory adjustments and takes corrective action as needed
  • Develops, implements, and documents procedures related to receiving/shipping, transfers/returns, physical inventory counts, ongoing cycle counts, and loss prevention
  • Coordinates with suppliers to resolve supply issues and ensure timely acquisition and distribution of drugs and supplies
  • Communicates drug availability and supply concerns to staff; collaborates with other inventory areas to minimize waste
  • Maintains inventory security and ensures appropriate use of institutional resources
  • Follows USP 797/800 and NIOSH standards when handling and wasting hazardous drugs
  • Completes pump assignments (replenishment, returns, cleaning) and monitors compliance
  • Restocks, loads, unloads, and removes expired inventory from automated dispensing cabinets; provides floor stock inventory as needed
