Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Registered Diet Technician (DTR) to support Correctional Health services. In this role, you will provide clinical nutrition services under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
You will utilize the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assist in assessing patients’ nutritional status and developing and implementing nutrition care plans for those s includes delivering nutrition education, applying evidence-based guidelines, and supporting patient care through effective time management and adherence to quality and compliance standards.

Education:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Completion of a nutrition and dietetics technician program (ACEND-accredited)
Licensure/Certification:
Compliance with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Experience:
1 year of experience in dietetics/nutrition preferred
Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD in nutrition-related field) may substitute for experience
Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
Exceptional verbal communication (public speaking)
Strong written communication (correspondence)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Excel and computer applications
Knowledge/Skills:
Mathematics and medical terminology
Knowledge of nutrition care processes and patient education
Equipment Knowledge:
Culinary equipment for food demonstrations
Calculator and weight scale
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Additional Requirements:
Completion of all required nutrition competencies within 90 days of hire
