Master Level Clinician - MCOT

Master Level Clinician (MLC) – Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD. The position reports to the Program Director, Clinical Team Lead, or designated staff and involves clinical assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and coordination with inpatient, outpatient, and community partners.

• Perform community‑based crisis assessments to determine needed level of care, assess for safety, and formulate diagnosis.
• Provide crisis counseling and intervention to reduce symptoms, provide education, and prevent admission to a more restrictive environment.
• Collaboratively create a treatment plan with the consumer to outline goals.
• Execute case management activities to assist consumers in accessing necessary care and services.
• Monitor consumer progress with treatment goals and link to services.
• Educate families so they understand the individual’s mental health symptoms and treatment.
• Provide information on mental health, medication importance, and treatment compliance to individuals, families, and the community.
• Complete electronic documentation daily as outlined in MCOT Operating Guidelines; documentation becomes part of the medical record.
• Adopt a trauma‑informed approach when interacting with the community and colleagues.
• Meet divisional and program productivity standards.
• Perform related work as assigned and adapt to changing requirements.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct in all professional activities.
• Comply with Agency policies, procedures, and MCOT Operating Guidelines.
• Act as designated crisis staff once weekly, entering and contacting new referrals, answering office calls, and responding to emergent and urgent referrals.
• Provide additional assistance to the Agency, Program Director, Clinical Team Lead, or staff as requested.

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, human development, or educational psychology from an accredited institution.
• Clinical license in Texas: LPC‑A, LMSW, or LMFT‑A.
• Preferred one to two years of clinical experience post‑master’s.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and must be insurable under Agency policy.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
• Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to incorporate patient history and related issues into diagnosis and treatment.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills; written documentation is clear and concise.
• Effective time‑management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.

• Salary: $62,588 annually (LPC‑A, LMFT‑A, or LMSW)
• Position under practice manager or designated supervisor.
• Travel may be required to transport consumers to home or field locations.
• Employment may involve exposure to unfavorable conditions and interaction with emotionally or physically hostile individuals.
