This tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Health Sciences will teach professional health science courses, engages in scholarly research, serves on departmental and college committees, and participates in professional activities, including internal and external conferences and seminars. S/he will perform other dutieswithin the range of skills normally associated with a faculty position of this classification in an evolving teaching and learning environment within an integrated learner-centered academicprogram.

• Teaches didactic and experiential programs in the classroom, laboratory, or online.

Ph.D degree in a public health or health-related field.

• A certification as a registered Health Information Manager (RHIA ) or Nutritionist will be preferable.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.

Knowledge of:

• Multiple disciplines in health science
• Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
• Knowledge of health information and nutrition.

Skill in:

• Problem-solving and decision-making.
• Strong time management.
• Interpersonal communication.
• Verbal and written communication.

Ability to:

• Prepare detailed reports.
• Lead the development or modification of work procedures in the discipline or function for virtually any situation.
• Work independently.
• Strong commitment to teaching and scholarship.
• Work with students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

• Capability to teach in different Health Science programs.
• A history in health sciences’ counseling and education, research in the health sciences, knowledge of biochemistry.
• Prior experience teaching at the undergraduate level in didactic, laboratory courses and online (2-3 years desirable).
• Prior scholarly activity in an area of interest is desirable.

• Prolonged standing and/or walking.
• Handling lightweight objects.
• Using or carrying equipment.
