Compensation: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour

Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Houston campus faculty on a temporary basis through October, with the possibility of transitioning into a long-term position for the right candidate. In this role, you will bring your clinical expertise into the classroom — delivering hands‑on instruction, mentoring students, and helping prepare the next generation of PTAs for successful careers in the field.

We are especially interested in candidates with an orthopedic background and experience in therapeutic exercise, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedic practice.

• Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans including scheduled activities and materials.
• Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum.
• Prepare lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.
• Assess curriculum and provide input based on professional expectations and contemporary expertise.
• Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row; prepare weekly attendance reports.
• Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught; meet with students to encourage retention and reduce withdrawals.
• Maintain student grades per established policies and prepare final grades at the end of each semester.
• Participate in developing processes and procedures to ensure students' readiness and safety before clinical education experiences.
• Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and visits to therapy clinics.
• Assist and advise students with PTA program curriculum; may assist with coordinating student externships.
• Participate in continuing education, PMI service events, and projects to support department goals as directed by the Program Director.

• Associate degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapy program;
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current, active, and unencumbered PT or PTA license, registration, or certification in the state of Texas or any U.S. jurisdiction unless otherwise indicated in the Texas state practice act.
• Minimum 3 years of full-time post-licensure clinical experience as a PTA or PT.
• Documented contemporary expertise in teaching responsibility and content delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer applications.

• Orthopedic clinical experience with expertise in therapeutic exercise, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedic practice.

• Competitive Pay: $31.00 – $38.75 per hour.
