Location:
Houston, TX 77030
Contract Duration: 13 weeks + probable extension
Shift: Evening
Pay Rate: $23/hr - $25/hr
Responsibilities
- Process decontaminated surgical instruments and medical devices according to manufacturer IFUs and established sterile processing standards.
- Receive, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays.
- Perform sterilization and high-level disinfection procedures following hospital protocols.
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles for quality assurance.
- Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing work area, including instrument rooms and storage cabinets.
- Dispose of biohazard waste and perform routine environmental monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform additional sterile processing duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Sterile Processing.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile processing workflows.
- Ability to operate sterilization and processing equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Certification
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) issued by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) OR
- CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
