Gastroenterology Technician III

The Gastroenterology Technician III (GT III) proficiently performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT III demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) Years Work Experience as a gastroenterology technician
• Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Program or SGNA Advanced Associates Program (OR) or Endoscopy Technician Program
• Two (2) Years Work Experience as a gastroenterology technician

Licensure & Certification:

• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross

• Medical Terminology Knowledge
