EEG Research Technician
The EEG Research Technician supports a research program by performing electroencephalographic (EEG) assessments and related neurophysiological data collection activities required to achieve grant-funded milestones. This position is responsible for acquiring high-quality EEG data, maintaining research documentation, supporting participant visits, and ensuring compliance with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and data quality standards. The role is essential to fulfilling the grant's objectives related to biomarker development, quantitative phenotyping, and clinical trial readiness.
Job Duties
- EEG Data Collection and Monitoring (50%) Performs routine, ambulatory, and research EEG studies according to approved protocols. Prepares participants for EEG procedures, including electrode application using standardized methodologies. Monitors EEG recordings to ensure signal quality and troubleshoot technical issues. Documents procedures and observations accurately and completely. Assists investigators with acquisition of neurophysiological biomarkers required by study protocols.
- Research Participant Support (20%) Coordinates EEG appointments and study visits with research coordinators and investigators. Educates participants and families regarding testing procedures and study requirements. Assists with participant recruitment, retention, and follow-up activities. Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies.
- Data Management and Quality Assurance (20%) Reviews EEG recordings for completeness and technical quality. Uploads, organizes, and maintains study data in approved databases and electronic systems. Assists with data audits and quality control procedures. Ensures adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IRB requirements, and sponsor guidelines.
- Administrative and Collaborative Activities (10%) Participates in study meetings and training activities. Collaborates with investigators, coordinators, clinicians, and external research partners. Assists with preparation of reports and documentation supporting grant milestones and deliverables. Performs other duties as assigned to support research objectives.
Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an Electro neurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education or ABRET recognized END Program. No experience required
Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. One year of EEG experience in a clinical or research setting. Registered by the American Board of Registration of EEG Technicians.
