A Certified Pathology Assistant (CPA) works under the direction of a licensed Pathologist to support the laboratory diagnosis of disease. The CPA performs a wide range of laboratory procedures including dissections, embedding, microtomy, and staining. They assist in the preparation of tissue samples for examination by Pathologists and play an important role in the administration and management of the Pathology laboratory.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of a master's degree from a NAACLS-accredited pathologists' assistant program
  • No experience necessary for recent graduates with one year of clinical training
  • Experience performing gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and voice dictation software
  • Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or new graduate eligible to take the ASCP certification exam and complete within one year of hire date
  • Proven solid organizational and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred

Qualification:
  • 2+ years of experience in anatomic pathology laboratory providing service to a mix of biopsy and large surgical specimens and both gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500 - $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
