Counselor I - LCDC

Position Summary

Provides Substance Use Disorder Counseling and Substance Use Disorder Education for Detox, Residential, Partial, and/or Intensive Outpatient patients and their families; provides case management services; communicating and working with all clinical staff, utilization management, and referral resources.

• Facilitates treatment from the time of admission through discharge to include group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and treatment planning.
• Documentation of all services provided within given time frames.
• Facilitates educational groups as assigned.
• Participates in crisis management and interventions as needed.
• Completes comprehensive assessment of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements and prepares individualized developmentally appropriate treatment plan.
• Develops and implements complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with substance use disorder for Detox, Residential, Partial, and /or Intensive Outpatient patients and their families.
• Provides case management services.
• Serves as a professional resource to referral sources, other Counselors in resolving case problems, and provides clinical supervision and guidance as needed.
• Develops and conducts in-service and continuing education programs for treatment staff.

• Minimum:
  Associate degree in the Mental Health or Human Service-related field
• A minimum of 2 yrs. Experience as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor is preferred
• All Counselors must have current qualification as an alcohol, drug, or substance abuse counselor as required by the licensing board Health and Human Services.

Employment Status: Full time

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5pm

Compensation Range: $65, salary
