Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for the night shift at Ben Taub Hospital
. In this role, you will ensure safe, effective, and optimal medication management across all dimensions of patient care.
You will interpret and evaluate medication orders, support clinical decision-making, and perform key pharmacy functions such as order entry, pharmacokinetics, IV-to-PO conversions, and therapeutic interchange
. You will also participate in multidisciplinary rounds
, provide direct patient care, and contribute to staff education and training. This role includes mentoring pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents.

- Education
:- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school
- Licensure/Certification
:- Texas Pharmacist License (or must obtain within 90 days)
- Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 180 days)
- ACPE IV Sterile Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required for inpatient roles within 6 months)
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification preferred
- Experience
:- Minimum 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in:
- Outpatient/Retail setting (ACS roles), OR
- Inpatient hospital setting (IP roles)
- PGY1 residency highly preferred
- Communication Skills
:- Strong written communication (reports)
- Technical Skills
:- Proficiency in MS Word and computer applications
- Knowledge/Skills
:- Analytical and research skills
- Medical terminology
- Statistical and mathematical knowledge
- Clinical problem-solving and design skills
- Work Schedule
:- Night shift
