Senior Social Worker - Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' Trauma and Resilience Center

Independently provides advanced professional social work services to address medical, psychiatric and social concerns, using a biopsychosocial perspective to assess, evaluate, implement, monitor, advocate and provide services for patients.

• Conduct comprehensive assessment and interpret patients’ social, emotional, environmental, and financial needs.
• Plan course of treatment or refer cases to appropriate professionals, institutions or agencies to ensure appropriate treatment or referral.
• Obtain data from patients and/or relatives to aid in developing teaching endeavors, programs, and social services.
• Assess patients and/or relatives, collaborate with the physician and multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, enhance patient experience, and achieve collaborative goals. Collaboratively develop patient goals, monitor progress, address barriers, and evaluate outcomes of individualized care plans. Conduct individual and group counseling.
• Prepare detailed reports for review with coworkers or a faculty member.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of DSM‑5 criteria.
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by State of Texas required OR
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by State of Texas required.

Master’s Degree in Social Work from a school approved by the Council on Social Work required.

4 years of social work experience required, with at least 1 year of experience providing evidence‑based, client‑centered counseling (group or independent) required.

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
