Job Title:
Experienced Phlebotomist – Clinical Research
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our growing clinical research team. The ideal candidate has exceptional venipuncture skills, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to providing outstanding patient care while supporting the successful execution of clinical trials.
Previous clinical research experience is highly preferred; however, experienced phlebotomists with strong laboratory and patient care backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures according to study protocols and laboratory requirements.
- Process, label, centrifuge, package, and ship biological specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
- Accurately document specimen collection and research activities in source documents and electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IATA, HIPAA, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare examination and laboratory areas for participant visits.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and inventory.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and regulatory-compliant work environment.
- Collaborate with investigators, clinical research coordinators, laboratory personnel, and sponsors to ensure efficient study execution.
- Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring participant comfort and safety throughout the visit.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional phlebotomy experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with routine and difficult venipuncture.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in a clinical research setting.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and ICH guidelines.
- Experience processing and shipping laboratory specimens for clinical trials.
