Harris Health System is seeking a Histology Technician II to join the laboratory team at Lyndon
B. Johnson Hospital
. In this role, you will participate in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, focusing on histology specimen processing
.
You will process and prepare patient tissue samples using established procedures and technical expertise, ensuring accuracy and quality. This role is essential in supporting timely and high-quality pathology services that contribute to accurate diagnosis and patient care.

- Education
:- Associate’s Degree from a NAACLS-accredited Histology program
- Licensure/Certification
:- ASCP Certification (HT) required
- Experience
:- Minimum of 3 years of histology experience
- Communication Skills
:- Above Average Verbal (heavy public contact)
- Strong written communication (correspondence and reports)
- Technical Skills
:- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
- Knowledge/Skills
:- Medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and laboratory best practices
- Equipment Knowledge
:- Experience operating:
- Microtome
- Embedding center and processor
- Special stainers and IHC platforms
- Cryostat and H&E stainer
- Experience operating:
