CVS Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Physician Assistant to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications as allowed, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists to optimize outcomes. You'll educate patients, coordinate follow-up care, and use evidence-based guidelines to support preventive health. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused patient histories and physical examinations for a diverse patient population.
- Order, interpret, and act on appropriate diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging, in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and collaborative practice agreements.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions, adjusting care as needed based on patient response and clinical findings.
- Prescribe medications and other therapies within the scope of practice and state regulations, ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use.
- Provide preventive care, health maintenance, and wellness counseling, including immunizations, screenings, and lifestyle modification support.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support seamless transitions across healthcare settings.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, adhering to organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and self-management strategies to improve adherence and health outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical protocols, and performance metrics aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all clinical, ethical, infection control, and safety standards, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies.
