Key Responsibilities

• Process and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Perform routine histology procedures.
• Prepare tissue sections using appropriate laboratory techniques.
• Maintain specimen identification and quality throughout the testing process.
• Follow established laboratory procedures and quality-control standards.
• Operate histology laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory professionals, and other healthcare team members.
• Follow all applicable laboratory safety and infection-control procedures.

• Minimum 2 years of Histology experience
• Certified Histotechnician (HT) through ASCP – Required
• ASCP certification must be verifiable.
• Strong attention to detail and specimen-handling skills.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
• Previous acute-care/hospital laboratory experience preferred.

• ASCP Certified Histotechnician (HT) – Required
• BLS – Not Required

• EMR/LIS: EPIC

Additional Assignment Information

• Parking: On-campus parking is approximately $15/day.
• Off-campus parking options are available for approximately $100–$150/month.
• Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
