Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist II to perform advanced diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in a high-acuity hospital setting. This role is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating gamma cameras and hybrid imaging systems, and ensuring rigorous radiation safety and quality standards. The technologist will collaborate closely with physicians and the care team to deliver accurate, timely results while providing compassionate patient education and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following strict safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Operate gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, and related imaging systems; perform image processing and quality checks
  • Assess, educate, and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safety and comfort
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and comply with all accreditation standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality control, equipment calibration, and radiation safety programs
  • Support orientation and mentoring of junior technologists and students
