Medical Technologist (MT / MLS) — Night Shift

Full-Time/On-Site

Monday - Friday

A night shift that actually works for your life: the same five nights every week, every weekend off, and no rotating schedule. If you’re a bench-strong Medical Technologist who does your best work when the lab is focused and the phones are quiet, this role was built for you.

Why This Night Shift Is Different

Set schedule, zero rotation. Monday through Friday, 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, a fixed, predictable schedule you can plan your life around.

Every weekend off. Your weekend is truly yours, no Saturday call-ins, no rotating weekend coverage.

Real autonomy. Nights are when our highest-volume PCR work runs. You’ll own the bench, make the calls, and see your impact by sunrise.

Direct patient impact. Overnight results are what let providers act at the start of their day — your shift is the reason patients get answers faster.

About Providers’ Choice Laboratory

Providers’ Choice Laboratory (PCL) is a new generation of laboratory testing and patient care. We deliver PCR diagnostic testing to providers across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, and we’re growing fast. Our mission is simple: revolutionize laboratory testing and provider partnerships so every patient receives the timely care they deserve. As a Medical Technologist at PCL, your expertise, professionalism, and judgment are relied on every night — not lost in a big-lab shuffle.

What

You’ll Do

Process and test specimens for clinical diagnostics, with an emphasis on high-complexity PCR testing.

Review test results and apply correct clinical interpretation before release.

Report results accurately and promptly through the laboratory information system (LIS).

Operate, maintain, and perform advanced troubleshooting on laboratory instrumentation — overnight, you’re the first line of problem-solving.

Write procedures and contribute to departmental policy development.

Serve as the go-to resource for Medical Technicians, Lab Assistants, and other laboratory personnel on shift.

Train employees and students; assist with R&D projects as needed.

Relay orders, monitor inventory, and stock supplies so the day shift starts clean.

Maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Molecular Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university; OR graduation from an accredited school of medical technology or equivalent (including qualifying military training) as defined by CLIA regulations for high-complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489).

Certification (or registry eligibility) through an approved agency such as ASCP, AMT, or HHS.

At least 1 year of experience in medical technology or equivalent — new graduates with strong molecular training are encouraged to apply.

Ability to independently calculate, interpret, and troubleshoot laboratory test results.

Sharp attention to detail and an eye for improving workflow and efficiency.

Clear, professional communication with team members and outside clientele.

Work Environment &

Physical Requirements

On-site laboratory environment; standing and moving for portions of the shift.

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs with assistance.
