Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Medical Receptionist role. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, verifying demographic and insurance information, and managing appointment scheduling. Daily tasks include answering and directing phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, handling messages, and coordinating follow-up appointments. The role also involves maintaining an organized front desk area, processing patient paperwork, supporting medical office workflows, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow.
The Medical Receptionist is expected to provide professional, courteous service to all patients and visitors and uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in line with healthcare regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience verifying medical insurance eligibility and benefits
- Experience with patient scheduling and appointment coordination
- Excellent phone etiquette, with the ability to handle high call volumes, route calls appropriately, and communicate clearly and respectfully.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, basic computer skills, and familiarity with office productivity software.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and communication methods, including fax and email
