Molecular Genetic Technologist II

The Molecular Genetic Technologist II conducts high-complexity molecular tests in the diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical testing following CAP, NY, and CLIA regulations.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct quality control (QC) checks and report deviations promptly.
  • Manage laboratory stock levels and replenish supplies.
  • Assist in training new employees as required.
  • Execute other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline or medical technology.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree with 0-2 years relevant experience

Preferred

  • MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Occasional exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
