Labcorp is seeking a Certifying Scientist to join our team in  
** Houston, TX** .

*
* Work Schedule:

** Tuesday - Saturday 10:00pm-6:30am

** Shift:
** 3rd, this position is eligible for a shift differential

** Job Responsibilities*
* + Responsible for certifying and releasing drug test results

+ Perform certification review of allinitialand confirmation data

+ Accurately enter and report test results for all specimens

+ Verification of all chain of custody documents, quality controls, and calibrations

+ Provide technical, interpretive, and/or regulatory consultation andassistanceto clients

+ Ensure theinitialtechnical review is complete and accurate

+ Perform GC/MS, LC/MS/MSand GC/FID certification in accordance withSOPs

+ Understand and follow quality procedures and protocols for security and confidentiality

+ Review and follow chain of custody procedures with accuracy and consistency

+ Identify and resolve quality control issuesin a timely manner

+ Assistin preparation of litigation packages andaffidavitswhen necessary

+ Consult with laboratory technical staffregardingroutine testing issues and practices

+ Prepare andparticipatein inspections and audits when required

+ Adhere to all regulatory and standard operating procedure requirements

+ Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + Ph.D. in Chemical or Biological Science OR Master's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology with 1 year or more of clinical testing OR Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology with 2 years or more of clinical testing experience

** Preferred Qualification*
* + Current or prior Labcorp experience

+ 3 months or more of Certifying Scientist or Toxicology experience

+ 6 months or more chromatography and/or mass spectrometry experience

** Additional Job Standards*
* + Certifying Scientist and Toxicology experience

+ In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements

+ Qualify as an NLCP Certifying Scientist in an appropriate time frame

+ Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

+ Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment

+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment

+ Excellent research and problem resolution skills

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a given time

+ Proficient with computers;
Familiarity with laboratory information systems

+ High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

+ Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position

+ Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

+ Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
