Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Accessioner to join our growing team on the night shift. This role is essential to the laboratory’s daily operations and plays a critical part in ensuring specimens are processed accurately and efficiently to support timely patient care. As a Laboratory Accessioner, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment where precision, organization, and teamwork are key to success.

Part-time position - maximum of 30 hours per week
Night shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Competitive hourly pay
Key Responsibilities- Receive, verify, and process laboratory specimens while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
- Maintain efficient specimen intake and processing to support laboratory workflow
- Ensure specimens are handled according to quality standards and patient safety protocols
- Perform clerical and administrative functions related to specimen processing
- Monitor and maintain laboratory supply inventory, ensuring materials are stocked and within expiration guidelines
- Assist with training laboratory assistants, students, or new team members when needed
- Coordinate daily workflow and assist with prioritizing urgent specimen processing
- Serve as a problem-solver and liaison when specimen processing issues arise
- Support laboratory leadership and medical directors in maintaining high standards of laboratory operations
- Participate in required competency training and quality improvement initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or related clinical training program preferred
- 1-2 years of laboratory or healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to reliably work overnight hours
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Ability to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and efficiency
- Professional and service-oriented approach when interacting with internal teams and external clients
