Hire Up Staffing is seeking a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) in Houston, TX to provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate support to pediatric patients and their families throughout their healthcare experience. Pay Rate: $27+/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)

Schedule:

Monday - Friday | Hours range between 6:30 AM-6:00 PM. Shifts will vary by coverage area.

What You'll Do
  • Assess pediatric patients within 24 hours of admission or consultation.
  • Develop and implement individualized psychosocial care plans based on each patient's medical needs and developmental level.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to pediatric patients and their families.
  • Use therapeutic play, preparation, education, and self-expression activities to help children cope with medical care.
  • Help reduce stress and anxiety associated with the healthcare environment.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and healing environment for children and families.
  • Educate patients and families about medical procedures and what to expect.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other members of the care team.
  • Participate in child life programs, activities, and special events.
  • Support patients at various developmental stages and adapt interventions accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Child Life Specialist or in a related pediatric role.
  • Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification required.
  • Certification must be through the Child Life Certifying Committee (CLCC).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children in a healthcare setting.
