The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a world-renowned cancer center dedicated to cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Colon & Rectal Surgical Oncology department is a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment with a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and integrated patient care. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse & Physician Assistant plays a vital role within an APP team that is deeply involved in patient management, clinical decision-making, and multidisciplinary care delivery.

UT MD Anderson is experiencing continued growth within Colon & Rectal Surgical Oncology, creating new opportunities for Advanced Practice Providers to practice at the top of their license. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse & Physician Assistant works within a collaborative team-based model alongside faculty while maintaining autonomous clinical responsibilities. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse & Physician Assistant also benefits from dedicated mentorship, APP leadership support, professional development opportunities, and involvement in quality improvement, research, and APP-led clinical initiatives.

The ideal candidate has experience caring for surgical patients, preferably within Surgical Oncology, and demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Experience with Epic/One Connect is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team while maintaining the ability to independently assess, manage, and coordinate patient care. • Assess, triage, and therapeutically manage patient needs as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team
• Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations and psychosocial assessments
• Review and interpret physical examination findings, laboratory results, and radiographic studies
• Formulate diagnostic and therapeutic management plans in collaboration with attending physicians
