The Per Diem RN in Medical Imaging is responsible for providing direct patient care by applying special clinical nursing knowledge and skills related to the Medical Imaging setting. He or she will strive to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
Primary Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the imaging suite such as CT, MR, US, Radiography, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Cardi Lab where applicable
- Assist physicians and technologists with patient preparation for procedures
- Assists during procedures
- Gather information. Responsible for appropriate labeling, handling, delivering and tracking of specimens from collection to reporting
- Provide health education information. Provide post procedure instructions
- AEB: skill demonstration, observation, document audits, attendance at educational in services
- Care of patients: performs technical and supportive patient care skills including, but not limited to:
- Waived testing
- Respiratory care
- Medical emergency response
- Safe and effective medication administration
- Prioritization of urgent patient care needs
