Overview
This position strives to provide exceptional service to internal and external guests at all times. The individual leads the front desk team, providing guidance, training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations. They serve as the first point of contact, create memorable first impressions, and are committed to meeting company standards as an ambassador of the Magnolia Hotel Houston.
Responsibilities- Assist with day‑to‑day management of front office operations.
- Conduct daily pre‑shift meetings with high‑guest‑impact team members (reservations, guest services, housekeeping, etc.) to ensure a smooth arrival‑to‑departure experience.
- Provide expert knowledge of services, rooms, rates, packages, daily house count, guest arrivals/departures, room availability, and in‑house activities to answer inquiries promptly.
- Promote and track departmental and organizational initiatives such as upsell programs and the Coral Tree Delivers Program.
- Ensure front desk agents complete required checklists at shift end.
- Execute departmental and hotel policies, including relocation, safe deposit box, billing, cashiering, safety, lost/found, and key control procedures.
- Maintain a calm and organized approach during stressful situations and uphold heartfelt care and urgency for guest interactions.
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet daily business demands.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and protect data.
- Foster strong relationships with team members across departments through communication and face‑to‑face interaction.
- Assist management in recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting team members.
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a high‑volume setting (preferred).
- Preferred previous hospitality experience in a Four‑Diamond organization.
- Experience with Windows, Office, and property management systems.
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write basic English.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Availability to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
- Marriott experience and Lightspeed experience (preferred).
