We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Laundry Specialist in our Housekeeping Department. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. Essential Functions:

• Washes, dries and folds resident laundry, as required, housekeeping mops and rags, etc. in a manner that will not damage equipment or items being processed.
• Sorts garments and contaminated linens, pre-rinses, treats and bleaches as necessary.
• Responsible for the proper operation and care of laundry equipment. Maintains a clean laundry work area and equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions and/or damaged linens to the Housekeeping Director.
• Maintains inventory of facility linens and related laundry supplies. Marks items, as necessary.
• Informs Housekeeping Director of any supply shortages. Reports all infractions of state and federal regulations by company to the Housekeeping Director or other appropriate personnel. Attends all in-services and meetings.
• Provides support for cleanup of leaks, spills, floods, fire, etc.
• Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
• Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates and vendors.
