The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations for a workforce of approximately 320 onsite employees. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to ensure HR processes are compliant, organized, and people-centered.
This is a hands‑on, working HR role supporting an hourly workforce in a production environment. The HR Generalist will play a key role in employee relations, administration, onboarding support, compliance, and HRIS management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Support employee relations matters, documentation, and follow‑up in partnership with HR leadership
- Assist with performance management processes, corrective actions, and employee documentation
- Support onboarding, job changes, transfers, and offboarding processes
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within Paylocity
- Assist with audits, reports, and data accuracy reviews
- Support payroll coordination, timekeeping, and PTO tracking in Paylocity, including data review and issue resolution, in partnership with HR leadership
- Assist with HR process improvements and documentation standardization
- Partner with the Recruiter / Onboarding Specialist to ensure onboarding processes are executed accurately and on time
- Serve as HR support and escalation point for onboarding issues, corrections, and compliance questions
- Step in to support onboarding and orientation activities during peak hiring periods or coverage gaps
- Ensure completion and accuracy of I-9s, background checks, and onboarding documentation
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and company policies
- Support audit readiness related to onboarding and personnel records
Work Environment
- Office‑based role within a culinary production environment
- Fast‑paced, time‑sensitive operation supporting aviation and corporate catering
- Consistent weekday schedule; flexibility required based on operational and onboarding needs
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of HR Generalist or HR support experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred: must be able to clearly communicate with employees at all levels
- Hands‑on experience with Paylocity strongly preferred
- Experience supporting hourly work forces in hospitality, food service, manufacturing, or similar environments preferred
- Working knowledge of HR compliance and employee relations practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow‑through skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check
