Summary
The Human Resources Generalist works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for assisting with overseeing and administering all general aspects of the human resources function within the healthcare clinic. This position is responsible for assisting with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, employee retention, engagement, and other HR functions.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in HR in a healthcare setting is required.
- Knowledge of the full cycle of recruitment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual – English/Spanish is preferred.
- Assists with the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives, such as employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs.
- Supports the recruitment and selection process by screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating pre-employment screenings.
- Manages new employee onboarding including orientation, completion of required documents, and processing of background checks and other employment screenings.
- Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary and locum workers as the company needs.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Ensures compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Keeps up to-date with changes in legislation and ensures necessary changes are implemented.
- Provides assistance to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintains accurate and complete employee records, including personnel files, and HRIS data.
- Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and processes.
- Monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- All Health Center staff members have emergency and disaster response responsibilities. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
