Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure firm that provides integrated EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) solutions across the midstream and upstream energy sectors and they are looking to hire an HR Generalist in Houston, TX.

A Human Resource Generalist is a professional who handles a broad range of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Human Resource Generalists also assist with payroll support training and development, and employee engagement and retention.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support across all teams
  • Assist with benefits administration
  • Manage onboarding process
  • Prepare orientation materials and conduct trainings sessions
  • Help organize employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Maintain HRIS database (ADP) and assist in generating reports
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Provide payroll support
  • Ensure compliance to labor laws / regulations and company policies

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum:
    High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business or Related Field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR
  • Self sufficiency
  • Skilled at conflict resolution
  • High discretion and ethics
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Performance Management
  • Training and Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.
