Job SummaryThe Head of Talent Business Partners - Consumer serves as the senior most strategic leader for the Talent Business Partner function across NRG's Consumer organization, including the Vivint Smart Home and Home Energy business units. This executive role is accountable for shaping and driving an integrated Talent & Culture strategy that enables business growth, strengthens organizational capability, and advances a high-performance, inclusive culture.
You will lead a team of Talent Business Partners and Organizational Development Partner(s) and guide the design and execution of enterprise wide talent initiatives, ensuring alignment with Consumer business priorities and NRG's longterm strategic objectives. This role partners closely with the Consumer executive leadership team, providing thought leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, and cultural transformation.
Success requires exceptional strategic acumen, the ability to influence at the highest levels, and a track record of building high-impact HR teams. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Talent Development Partners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Enterprise Talent Strategy & Leadership- Set the strategic direction for the Talent Business Partner function across the Consumer organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and evolving business needs.
- Serve as the principal advisor to Consumer executives on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, workforce strategy, and cultural priorities.
- Translate business strategy into actionable Talent & Culture plans that strengthen organizational performance and futurereadiness.
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise level talent initiatives, including succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, and organizational design.
- Build trusted, influential relationships with senior leaders, providing counsel on complex organizational challenges, talent decisions, and change initiatives.
- Act as a strategic thought partner in shaping longterm business plans, ensuring talent implications are anticipated and addressed.
- Champion a culture of accountability, performance, and inclusion across all Consumer business units.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team of Talent Business Partners/Organizational Design Partners supporting the Consumer portfolio.
- Establish clear priorities, operating mechanisms, and success measures for the team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality strategic support.
- Build organizational capability by identifying skill gaps, designing development strategies, and enabling leaders to build strong, engaged teams.
- Support the execution of core Talent & Culture programs-including performance management, compensation planning, employee relations, and talent acquisition-ensuring excellence, consistency, and compliance.
- Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to design and deploy scalable programs in benefits, learning & development, compensation, and talent acquisition.
