Here’s how a Project HR Advisor for PCL Industrial Construction Co. contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Conducts on‑site orientation for all new craft employees, ensuring hiring and onboarding paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.

  • Acts as the voice and face of HR on designated projects, escalating issues to District HR as needed and ensuring timely, accurate communication.

  • Leads, advises, and administers HR programs, policies, practices, and compliance.

  • Guides and coaches supervisors on employee relations issues, compensation, recruitment, performance improvement, workforce planning, and training programs.

  • Assists with local market research, analysis, and recommendations as needed.

  • Develops and maintains strong, customer‑focused relationships with stakeholders within the district.

  • Guides and coaches supervisors through progressive disciplinary processes for skilled craft personnel.

  • Partners with HSE on the administration and implementation of drug and alcohol programs.

  • Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders as required.

  • Partners with departments across the project and district (Accounting, HSE, Payroll, Operations, Recruiting, etc.) to ensure project success.

  • Acts as first point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding employee relations issues and investigations.

  • Assists the District HRPD Manager with critical investigations, including fact gathering.

  • Provides data analysis, reporting, and recommendations.

  • Delivers project‑level training programs and assists with training needs analysis and planning.

  • Coaches managers through employee relations issues.

  • Identifies and manages risks and opportunities within HRPD processes and programs.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Post‑secondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.

  • Completion of HR designation preferred.

  • 5 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.

  • 3 years of industrial construction experience preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

  • Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
