HR SYSTEMS & DATA SPECIALIST, CONTRACTOR

SUMMARY

The HR Systems & Data Specialist, Contractor will support the HR team in collecting, entering, and maintaining accurate employee and project-related data within Workday (WD). The primary focus of this role is to ensure that EPC project personnel records are complete and up to date — including reviewing individual resumes, conducting brief interviews with employees as needed, and accurately entering project history and workforce data into the HR system.

A key deliverable of this role is the development of a structured employee self‑service guide that enables EPC employees to independently enter and update their own project history in Workday. This role is ideal for organized and detail-oriented individuals who are interested in Human Resources, data management, or business operations and are eager to gain hands‑on experience with HR systems and workforce data in a corporate environment.

This is a full‑time contractor position located in Houston, TX and is fully onsite.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review employee resumes and project information to support data entry activities.
  • Enter and update employee and project‑related information in Workday.
  • Contact employees as needed to collect or verify project history information.
  • Organize and maintain workforce records and supporting documents.
  • Assist with data cleanup and accuracy checks.
  • Support creation of simple employee guides and training materials.
  • Assist with additional HR administrative and data‑related projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle and organize large amounts of information accurately.
  • Good communication skills, comfortable reaching out to employees and coordinating with team members to gather information.
  • Comfortable handling confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bilingual in English and Korean preferred, but not required.
  • Basic Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)
  • HRIS (Workday) knowledge, and EIB data loads.
  • Interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Management, or related fields.
  • Experience creating instructional materials, user guides, or training documents.
  • Prior experience in an EPC, engineering, construction, or project‑based work environment.

  • Hearing and Speech: frequently communicates with the ability to hear and talk on a regular basis with employees, coworkers, and customers.
  • Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far.
  • Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors.
  • Travel: minimal travel expected; up to 5% as needed.
